The government proposes a single exam for recruitment for all Non gazetted post. Presenting the Budget 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government’s intention is to bring major reforms in the recruitment of non-gazetted posts in governments and public sector banks.
Explaining the rationale for this, Nirmala Sitharaman said that at present the youth have to take many exams for various government posts and this puts a huge burden on them as they have to spend a lot Time and money On them.
To reduce the difficulty faced by the candidates, it is proposed to form a government National Recruitment Agency, Also known as NRA.
The NRA will be an independent, professional, specialist organization and will conduct an examination, known as the General Eligibility Test, for selection in government jobs.
Another major reform proposed by the government is Implement computer-based testing For selection in government jobs. Till now most of the government recruitment exams are conducted in computer based mode, though not all. The application of this old pattern of examination where candidates mark their responses OMR Sheet, will be hold.
