Online applications are invited by the Postal Department / India Post, Assam Postal Circle, from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in various post offices of Assam Postal Circle:

Age: The minimum and maximum age for the purpose of engagement for GDS posts will be 18.08 and 40 years respectively, as the date of notification of vacancies is 05.08.2019.
Justified Upper age limit relaxation The different categories are as follows: –
a) SC / ST: 5 years.
B) OBC: 3 years.
C) PWD: 10 years.
Educational Qualification: Secondary School Examination Passing Certificate with 10th class in Mathematics and English (studied as compulsory or optional subjects) conducted by any recognized board school education by Government of India / State Governments / Union Territories. . Must have a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks. (Reference Directorate Order No. 17-31 / 2016-GDS dated 25.06.2018). In the first attempt, the candidate passed the tenth standard examination, he would be considered meritorious against those who passed compulsorily.
Compulsory knowledge of local language: Candidate should study local language till at least 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] Declared by the State Government or as per the constitutional provisions relating to the 8th Schedule to the Constitution of India.

Basic Computer Training: Candidates of all approved categories of GDS specified in (i) above to submit the Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any computer training institute run by the Central Government / State Government / Universities / Institutions. would be required. Board / Private Institution Organization. This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate will be relaxed in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or class XII or any other higher academic level and in such cases, on a separate certificate Will not be emphasized. above.
Selection Process: Selection will be done on the basis of the candidates submitted online as per the rules automatically generated merit list.
Application Fee: Applicant of category OC / OBC / EWS male should pay a fee of Rs. 100 / – (Rupees one hundred) for each set of five options. The candidate who has to pay will have to visit India at any of the Head Post Offices or other identified post offices. The applicant can also pay the fee through online payment using the URL given in the home page. All recognized credit / debit cards and net banking facility can be availed for this purpose. From time to time, a fee will be levied for the use of debit / credit card and net banking.
However, Fee is exempt to pay For all female candidates as well as PwD candidates.
